The Child Language Lab @ NYU studies how children learn what words and sentences mean. Learning our first language (or languages for multilingual little ones!) is probably the most complicated and amazing thing humans ever do – how do children do this? That is what we research at our lab, focusing on semantics (meaning in language).
We combine expertise in linguistics, cognitive science and developmental psychology to help understand just how our little ones learn language!
Our research on child language development depends on people like you. A visit to our lab (or a virtual visit) allows you to learn about the way children learn language along with us – you and your child become part of important research in the field, in real time!
We invite you to visit our lab in NYU’s Department of Linguistics in Greenwich Village.
